Just arrived back after a trip out to find 2 vans down the alley way blocking my garage door. Hooted the horn on the Prius to get the builders attention.1 hangs out the window & MRS shouts up could you move the vans please... oh can you do it quickly..please
1 of the builders explains to the Mrs there is no where for the vans to park.she explains there will be soon will be.
Into the garage I go start the landy up & bib my squeaky horn.
I hear the mrs again saying to the builders
That he won’t be saying please....

so now vans moved & we have met the “new” owner. Wait till they find the boundary lines ;)

Not much to show for today.:(
Still trying to make space in the hoose for all the stuff we have.
Spent ages hunting for a pair of trainers (Yes at my fecking age:rolleyes:) that I have worn precisely twice.
Podiatrist says I should wear them around the house with insoles in.
Could i find the feckers? Could I feck! and i know exactly when I wore them, it was for 2 trips to the Chiropractic college a few years ago where I had to do some exercises in the gym.
Looks like i am going to have to order some sort of "house shoes". Decent slippers are a heck of a price as it is. And few places make the sort i like. Can't get the insoles in them otherwise....:(
Why is life so often a case of throwing money at things?:(:(:(
Enjoy the rest of the day/evening!:):):)

Try PADDERS 'Marino' slipper/house shoe, UK made. I think they are now discontinued but can be found ' new ' on ebay. They are leather, Moccasin type with a proper, firm sole - not cheap though.
I am now wearing my husband's - three sizes too big for me but as they were hardly worn I just couldn't see them thrown away.:rolleyes::rolleyes::)

I spent some time reading up on the history of the building you were training in.
Fascinating!:):):)
This a copy from a transparency which I took in 1963 after the snow had cleared. It was taken from the top of The Deer Sheds in the Park where we used to play lacrosse, looking down over the front of our part of the House. The lawned frontage was our cricket pitch which was laid to County standard. We had to climb up there before we could start playing but I was young and fit in those days.

That is a very pretty pic.
I was amazed at the history of the place, especially the rivalry between the two branches of the family who then spent so much time and money trying to outdo each other with additions and enlargements to the houses.
Also how a politician tried to get mining done so close to the house as he was an arch-hater of what he saw as the landed gentry.

I then branched out into trying to find the school my mother was evacuated to from Hull during the war. It must have been good as she ended up a doctor after the war and was 17 in 1945. Trouble is I am not really in touch with my extended family. I might ask my bruv if he knows. ;)
