Looks cold but temperature nowhere near as low as we were led to expect. There is a major change in the weather on its way with a projected 8 degrees overnight tomorrow. The wee one is enjoying his early morning alf rescu kip and the big 'uns in 'is pit snoring away peacefully.
Enjoy your weekend folks. :):):)

Have you tried screw cutting with your lathe yet?
Hi @My Old Landy :)
No, I have not tried screw-cutting yet.
Too much of a coward and no need to do it at the moment. ;)
All that gear changing to get the pitch correct makes my head spin ;)
I am quite pleased that I have "fixed" the major flaws/faults in the thing and got it to take some decent cuts with a good finish.
Parting off isn't so good, but it is probably my lack of technique/familiarity with the operation.
I am going to try putting it in reverse and cutting from the back with an upside-down blade.

Parting off is the other thing that can cause problems, your approach should help.
I am fortunate to have a rear toolpost so it is solid and does not over hang.
Have fun!!

Bit chilly in the kitchen this morning
