Sadly the vet phoned at 04:00 this morning to tell me that little Charlie budgie had passed away ...
Just got to wait now for a reasonable time to tell Dad ...

.......That I am a bit "miffed".
The £400+ AV receiver in the front room has broken, so no more 5.1 Dolby Surround sound.
A quick search online and I find that the brand has a reputation for the SMT components un-soldering themselves from the various boards because of inadequate heat-sink usage.
Bummer! I don't really want to buy another one right now.
Practice nurse will be doing dressings, she is new! Wonder what she will be like?
Enjoy the rest of the day!
And you would have laughed.I'm far more worried about going into the hospital and having to wait there amongst others who may have the walruss, than anything else. I think If I had anything that serious, it would have shown up in the intervening 20 years. And I'm pretty sure I was tested for diabetes when I retired, altho I am aware I could maybe have developed it since.
Tis bloody painful tho and the podiatrist reckons it'll take 3 months to heal up.
Course Wifey is furious as this will have an effect on the finish date of the utility room. (Mutterings about "get a man in", etc. FFS)
Will have to get one of those massive moon boot things, which might be fun. give me more of an excuse when I step on her toes!
Thanks for the reply, looking forward to the pic.I must have missed your Q ?? We glued them in as there were gaps under them, (between the uprights).
We thought water would get trapped & may cause problems in years to come. They will be chiselled
flat (basically cut in half) level with the inner slats. If thats any clearer
The lower gate has been done already I will take a pic in the morning for you.
Glad it went "not too badly" for you and no amputation attempts were made.Bin to the orspicle.
Bout 3 hours in A&E
X-ray, Bloods, done.
No osteomyelitis, not likely to be diabetic.
No apparent sinus.
Given funny shoe to wear, and a rubbish dressing.
Wifey still being a grouch.

My mother used to be a dermatologist. You can scratch it with a knitting needle
Gorrit open, nuffin obvious to be seen. No blown electrolytic caps, nothing clearly burnt/popped/fizzled or in some other way phucked, no loose wires or heat-creeped connectors......but it's toast.Gerrit open and see whats inside. Yer never know yer luck.
I am not the worlds best soldrerer, but would it be possible to get some F off big heat sinks and go over it doing the job properly? Or even replace the PCB, which I remember reading, on another thread on here, another member did for his TV and fixed it for a fraction of the cost?.......That I am a bit "miffed".

HDMI board (obvious candidate) is a discrete board but.......... they don't make them any more.
Looks like it will be heading for landfill, which is a crime against humanity and ecology.

Get it on the bay as spares or repairs rather than binning it.Looks like it will be heading for landfill, which is a crime against humanity and ecology.
I didn't like the look of the power connections to the HDMI board so I tickled them with my electric pencil. Put it all back together to see if any "angry pixies" wished to escape (they didn't).I am not the worlds best soldrerer, but would it be possible to get some F off big heat sinks and go over it doing the job properly? (I have a similar problem as one of our things very occasionally pops off for a mini second then comes back on. Just like a dry joint.)
