You should just give that kit car to me. :D:D
Trouble is, it is a work in progress and so much of it is in my head!
It has been registered and on the road, to avoid SVA, but since then I took it almost all apart to "finish it and do it properly" and then my idiotic perfectionist soul came out. E.g. I redesigned the spare wheel holder about 3 times, and I still am not happy.
I debated a pop-up rollover bar, based on one that exists somewhere that senses when a car is just about to turn over, as the car is a sort of loose copy of a thirties roadster, which obvs never had RO bars. I spent a whole fortnight modifying a pair of P30 headlamps to take Volvo sealed units sat inside the shells and behind the original glass. Imagine all this was before LEDs had come to the market. In any form even domestic!

So the drive train, engine etc is in a rolling chassis but the rest is spread all over the place.:(:(:(

Evening all... Pizzed doon all mornin then the sun came out for a bit with a few wee showers.
Finished the garage roof ooopps for got to take pics.

The decking project is taking shape though....

This really is looking good. Talked to that building/woodworking mate about your method of burning off the wood before doing whatever to it, he thoroughly approves! :):):)

Quite fancy another kit car to mess about with, I had my eye on a couple but became too busy to
be messing about with motors so they've probably gone by now.
Before domestic led's

I won the kit in a competition in 1991.
Don't know what it is like now but the cheapest way to buy a kit car always used to buy an unfinished one, and there were always tons. To most peeps it takes tremendous perseverance to actually build one. Which is why so many give up.
Mind you, even back in those days, some kits were such a piece of p!ss to build, they came with absolutely everything, wiring looms etc etc. but you paid for it. The rest of us got basically the body and the chassis and the rest was up to you. This is what I got. I even didn't buy their windscreen, I welded my own up from aluminium. The only ally welding I have ever done. The only standard parts are.......(to what the kit is supposed to have)......the front cross member and the back axle.
