Got my insurance renewal notice for the fender a couple of weeks ago, premium went up 23%. Spoke to them on the phone today to discuss it (like wot I does every year), and got it down (like wot I does every year). Result - 67pence less than last year and still under 200 sovs. Appy daze :)

With you on that!
Although, to be fair, I do actually have a garage, it is just too small for the Landy, too small for the CR-V .....and full of all the necessities of life anyway. :D
Me too!
Can't even get to it with all the other vehicles in the way.
The thing that is being cossetted in it is an unfinished kit car that I haven't touched since about 1995!

I'm done for now!! Another letter from TV licencing!!
Am officer has been scheduled to find out if tv is being watched of downloaded illegally. Apart from the fact you can't download 'tv', pretty sure said officer doesn't have the power to unlock my pc and search the disk for downloads!!!
Said officer may also interview me under caution  so it will be a police officer then? And I'll be arrested so PACE can be used? Wow

I think it is right to say they actually have to witness you watching live TV, and if not they can't do you.
"Section 363 of the Communications Act 2003 makes it an offence to install or use a television receiver to watch or record any television programmes as they’re being shown on television without a TV Licence."

THEMSELVES.
So if you don't have a telly installed, or have any recordings made from an aerial you should be OK.

Good Morning All :D
A cold and damp day here.
I have been very busy this morning repairing the kitchen ceiling with a small amount of Artex. :)
It has taken me days to get this done because every spare 1/2-day I had, got stolen with requests to mind grand-kids from one family or another.
So today, after breakfast and when she had finally vacated the kitchen I got cracking.
It is all done as best as I am able/willing to attempt. If you go too far you often end up just creating an even bigger eyesore than before in my experience.
So that is all I am willing to do at this stage, when it has dried and is less "slap you in the face" obvious; I shall take a decision on whether to attempt further cosmetic disguise/improvements.
Anyway's, you all have a lovely day. :D

Well done!
Tis a real pain isn't it!
I was fortunate in that I could cut out holes of the exact right size then reuse them which maintained the Artex pattern, and all I had to do was disguise the join.
Makes me think if I ever had to do it again I might prepare boards with the pattern on them, either by using a mould or by copying it, but with it flat on a horizontal surface but obvs the other way up. So less of a strain on the back, the arms and the brain. Then once done, cut out a desired section and fit it. again, disguising the join.
Whichever way we look at it, Artex was only ever introduced to disguise an uneven ceiling! Trades back in the day never needed to use it, so it was a bodge that became a fashion. FFS!

This is it. They can only do you if they catch you in the act. Since the latest update, you can have a telly, just so long as you don't use it for watching live broadcast or iPlayer.
Last i heard. They aren't police officers so they can't arrest you or use PACE, so can't interview under caution.
