You thought wrong.:) Blue ones for recycling and black ones for 'rubbish'. We get given 2 rolls of black ones and if you use 'em all before next year then you buy your own. Blue ones we get four rolls of them but can go and pick up extra ones if you run out. They are collected on alternative weeks in a little truck but are limited to putting 2 black bags only out but there is no limit on the blue ones. Over long holiday periods, like Christmas, we get some leeway - but not much!
just 2 must be a struggle for families, and the mess you often get with bags, wheelie bins has been god send as far as rubbish goes

...that wimmins is the strangest creatures.
Earlier this week I says to HER..."Jewellers in the High St. are having a closing down sale 50% off. You might like something for Xmas?
She replied "You know what I like, dangly earrings in Amber would be nice."
So what did I do? I got a pair of said earrings on Wednesday, wrapped them up as a surprise gift for Xmas. :)
What did she do this morning? Went to the same jewelers and bought a pair of? Yup, you guessed it!
So my Xmas "surprise" (part surprise) is ruined in one fell swoop. :(
Not the first time she has done this either.
She once asked for a specific gift for her birthday (which I arranged to give her in the evening when we went out with some friends). So, not content with the other smaller "token" gifts given to her on the morning of her birthday in advance of the main event for the evening she goes out and buys a £300 leather coat and tells me "I thought you would like to buy be something special".
This behaviour really pi$$e$ me off.:mad:

for most id think wheeling a bin out is easier than carrying bags
Depends on the area you live in. Carrying one, or at the most two small bags, downhill is a lot easier for many than having to wheel a weighty bin up and down hills. Each to their own. I doubt I will be around but come back in another thirty plus years and see if you still think the same.:)

Something else for you to think about is that in our area it is not possible to use large trucks on the narrow lanes to collect the items in - a small flatback truck is the vehicle of necessity.:)

bins arent heavy at all

i was originally replying to jim,so your not doing bad at it yourself:)

Apologies, I thought you were commenting on the use of bags which both Jim and myself had mentioned. On looking back, I can see how this has happened - you did not refer to anyone in particular in your quote. Post no. 32573 I think it is reasonable to understand that it was an open quote and open to all replies.:)

I enjoyed another reasonable free-form session in the gym today.:)
The shoulder impingement issues seem to be sorted and I am able to do lateral raises again...Hooray!
Didn't do so well on the bike, I just ran out of energy.:(
Plenty of arm work though and I also managed some decent 50Kg pull-down sets on the lat-machine. :)
Judging progress is hard when you know you used to be so much stronger but you are about 20 years older.
I content myself with the knowledge that 2 years ago very little of what I do today would have been at all possible. :D

Tell me about it! I was full of energy up to about 75 but from then on the rate of decline is certainly noticeable.
