Im sorry to jump in on this thread but I have two urgent questions. Freelander 1 2.0 1999 model alternator seized. Can it be fixed and which other car is it compatible with?

Well our day was going great until a few moments ago, though it could have been worse.
Up early then finished off yet more present wrapping, waiting for Herpes and DHL to come and pick up parcels for delivery.
The Herpes guy came at about 1 pm and picked up three, for France.
Less than an hour later a random couple showed up at the door with one of our parcels in their hands. they found it on the ground near an underpass you can only walk through, under a bypass which is about 300 metres from our place.:mad::mad:
They took a photo of it in situ.;)
Decent folk, they could have just pinched it. :)
Meanwhile wifey has been onto Parcels2Go with some success, a chat and promises.
I have tried Hermes website chat, load of total rubbish, cannot get through to a human especially as the parcel is for abroad.
The parcel contains a handmade quilt wifey started making two years ago!
As fior the other two, who knows?
The guy had an authentic looking scanner and a Hermes jacket on.
Luckily the whol lot is insured.

Now I'm sure others will jump on with similar horror stories.
and we thought the French post office were bad!:mad::mad:

Thats a bit **** service. Glad you got the quilt back I think Mrs Steamer would have been steaming about that going missing. How can you put an insurance price on something with that much labour and love.

Can you track the parcels to see where they are? Hope they have not come to the same fate and they reach thier destination ok.

Literally a minute ago the other two parcels came up on tracking, and I hand dropped off the quilt, so we are a bit more hopeful now..:)
And yes, wifey was distraught except that we had it back before we knew it had gone missing so that wasn't so bad. She was more worried about the rest.
All is insured but, as you say, you cannot get back the time, love, effort care she put into the quilt. As it is for our half-Japanese grand daughter, she even got not only the material but even the threads from Japan. Luckily the box was light so I think this is why they threw it out, thought it wasn't worth anything.:mad:
Will never go with them again.:mad:
Our opposite neighbour who runs a DPD is always offering to send parcels for us, for free in the UK and a fiver for France. we would feel embarrassed taking him up on his offer but will do so from now on! :):)
We have such lovely neighbours, (apart from the 2 sh!ts, obvs!):):):)
