In my last job I spoke regularly to some blokes in Cardiff. One day they asked to send some gear to "xxxxx" (I can't remember), an I said ok, sending to "xxxxx", an he said no, it's" xxxxx", an I said, sorry, that's "xxxxx"? An he started gettin lumpy!
FFS says he, it's "xxxxx"! So I says "xxxxx" as best I could.... I thought he was bein a bit of a knob tbh.

See if he could pronounce Boarhunt like an Ampshire boy, I dunt fink so.. :D
I get this occasionally in French. It's just an accent thing, cos as soon as they get what I'm saying they laugh and repeat what I just said, and to me it sounds exactly like I said it!
I'll never pass for a Frog except to a non-frog!;)

If I take days off nowt gets done lol We took the roofing job on just to do at weekends as it was a leaking
badly, leaking onto there bed ffs we couldnt leave them living in a damp house but we are so busy during the week it could only be done at weekends.
The last builders ripped them off an done a cr@p job only looking for quick cash
They are an elderly couple an we had to get the house water tight before winter kicked in.
All the roofing is done just the new facia boards & we will fit deep flow guttering as the standard
guttering was choked solid.
The back porch & decking is rotten too, if id have stood on it id have went straight though.o_O
No doubt we will have to sort that in the spring. Still its all water tight now. :):)
Oops, dint realise you was doing it under these circs. Would have done the same in your shoes!
Well done mate!:):):)

Do you have Kelery in Wales then? ;)

No, if it is produced in Wales it will have the Welsh word on there ( I have no idea what it is) as well as the English but if it is 'imported' from England, Scotland or even N.Ireland, it will be in English. You have fallen into the trap of muddling two languages. In Wales everything official has to be in both Welsh and English. it does seem a waste to get all my official letters in two languages as I only read the English but then others will only read the Welsh. Tax, DVLA etc are all bilingual. I think it must be more economical to get peeps to opt for one or t'other but 'they' say otherwise. Similarly, internet pages give me a choice of language I wish to use, same if I use telephone communication.

In Belgium you get everything in both Flamand and Walloon. And don't you get stuff in Quebec in both French and English? Not sure about the last one.
But Lille is an enclave in Belgium so some of the road signs fooled people. I was once stopped by a coupla Merkins in a campervan who had been driving round and round the ring road, They asked me how to get to Ghent, I pointed to the huge sign right in front of them, leading off the road which said "Gand". Poor things! They were lucky to come upon a Brit.

I've just been reading this news story and I'd really like to do this sort if thing.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-54842438

Sadly, due to the walrus I'm quite limited at the moment so for the time being it looks like I'm stuck here.
While I've got some time off I'm just gonna relax and get in to the mindset that I no longer need to worry about all the crap that I've had to deal with over the past 11 years. :D
Go stealth van. Less hassle when you park in places like towns.

Morning All :D
Goodness it is "taters" this morning. first real frost of the year here.
Herself went for the paper early as she has a diabetic eye screening this morning so dilation drops later before the OCT scan.
Having done all the good deeds over the weekend I have the day largely to myself (for a change). ;)
Mini-project for me and Thom next week is the installation of 12 LED downlighters and also a pendant cluster over the peninsular in the kitchen so a trip to Screwfix this morning after she is back from the screening (with her white stick).
Other than this I feel some home-gym coming over me and maybe some trike-building.;)
You all have a really good day! :D
