Me too! There are a few 'rules' of pronunciation to follow but other than those it is supposed to be said the way it is spelt.
EG. there is no 'soft' C, always hard K. W = oo etc. So cwm is koom

Got to the bottom of my blinking light int kitchen. the stoopid fitting won't take the recommended bulbs, too wide for it though they looks like they ought to fit. they screw in but not quite deep enough to make contact.
