Morning All :D
Not a bad day out there today.:)
Went the long way round to get the paper as I had some cards to post in the distant post-box.
I heard over the weekend that my 86 YO Uncle Ivor (loveliest bloke ever) has just been released (from hospital).
He has apparently been unwell for quite a while and finally was taken to hospital where it was discovered that he had 2 Abscesses on his liver and while they were in there they found he has bowel cancer. :( MRI scan is pending.
It isn't looking promising, but he's a fighter. He told me off for using a stick after my hip replacement (said, "You should get rid of that, pronto.") He's had 3 complete sets of false hips himself.:)
We're in lockdown so I sent him a card wishing him well.
Coffee is sinking fast, and I have much to do today, a trip to the DIY store because I have a leak around my new windows (wet plaster patch inside), and I need to do something about that.
My "internal shutters" need to be wallpapered on the reverse side and then painted. I am quite pleased with how they are coming out. :)
Really enjoying my home-gym efforts, I feel achy but very much alive, so that's good in my book.:)
Have a great day everyone.:D
Shame about the wet patch. Will they ever get it right?:(:(:(:(:(

Didn't go into town ...

Vacuumed under the rear seats of the motorised shopping trolley, if I'm not allowed to drive it, I may as well get all the niggly jobs done, found 1 Bic lighter, 1 stylus and 2x50p pieces ...

Front seat belts are now clean, dry and mostly finished ...

Emptied the boot, totally, to discover a fish bowl of water under the polystack thingy ...

Trying to work out how it got in ...

A few rust marks, I'll let it dry then Furtan treat the patches and hammerite the devil out of it ...

That should keep me going through till I'm allowed back to work ...

FOUUUUUUUUUUNND IT!:):):):):):):):):):)
@Hicap phill was right! Well done mate!;););)
I didn't spot it at the ferry cos it is tucked up in a dark place and the thing it was holding on, hadn't moved(?)
But it was the nearside rear top shock absorber mounting bolt which.......wasn't there anymore!:eek:
So every time I went over a bump the shocker basically came out of its mount then went back in again. o_O
So took the equivalent off the other side and tried it, sho nuff, the bolt once tightened up was going round and round. I vaguely remembered this happening a bit when I replaced the shockers for the MOT, not that I could see owt wrong with old uns. And in the rush to get it through etc, just left it.
So now, to fix the problem, I need an extra long bolt, a lock washer and a nut.
Getting to the end of the bolt's fixing ont chassis is a bit of a barsteward, but I reckon there is just room. Although getting a spanner on it may be fun!
So ruler, thread gauge and pooter for ordering purposes... time, maybe Screwfix, who knows?
Hey Ho!
Anyone else had this problem I wonder?
May start a new thread
"new thread"!!!!! HO! HO! HO!. Geddit?

Nope, not very funny.:(:(:(

Well, fings gets betterer and betterer!:):):)
Worked out it's 12mm 1.75 thread so Stan goes and looks in his stores, cos he nevva throws anythink away and....No suitable bolts, but yes, nuts and even nyloc nuts.
Good start.:):)
Then he has a bit of a fink and wonders what happened to those overlong bolts that came with the front hub sent in error that I had to put on the rear?
In garage? No.
In trailer? No.
I pannier in Disco along wiv loads a tools and spares? Yes!:)
Would they be the same thread/diam? Yes!!:):)
Would they be a bit longer, yes, yes, YES! AND they have a shank on em!:D:D:D:D

Having had a feel around there will be enough excess thread on the end to put the nyloc nut on as a lock nut to the threaded captive nut on the chassis. Only thing I couldn't find was a lockwasher.

So guess what's going on tomoz, if it don't rain?;)

Hmm. Decided I'll take the wheel off as I'll have a bit of a do on to get the nut on the end.

So if I had been overlanding instead of just driving home from Frogland I would have had 4 spare bolts.
Result. Not cost a penny!
Which I love cos I is reeely tight!!!;)

I had to laugh. I put the hardware onto milady's swing and was not really surprised to find that it is a little "high".
I can saw some off the bottom of each leg (her's or the swing's) ....or... lengthen the chains. I am not altogether surprised as the whole thing has been built from parts from different vendors and not to a precise plan.
I have ordered some more chain this evening (simplest fix available).
She has had a good look at her swing and says she loves it. If the chain does not arrive in time I shall provide a step-stool so she can try the swing out on her birthday. :)

An the platin for swmbos project Dutch push Bike arrived today.
Everything is mint, cept the dornment for the chainguard, which is made of the same cheese as Raleigh chopper mudguards back in the day.
Happily, have tracked another down in Holland, should be good to go come friday.

Night peeps :)
