So why do you take 2 cars over? why not buy a little runaround for France and leave it there. Surely the extra ferry cost & fuel could soon pay for itself?

Just being "nosey";):D

Like your long post on why you went to Bulgary land. It is a bit of a long story.
We used to only bring the Landy and a trailer, but after a while wifey retired so she would go over in hers and then later, when I had holiday I'd go over in mine. Some times we had to stagger our trips and yet I was still trailering stuff over. Bear in mind we brought almost all the stuff in the house from the UK.
Wifey loves her Pluriel but also brought her Porsche Speedster copy over as she is a bit of a show off! But it bruck down. Stupid garage couldn't do the simple work-around I suggested so i had to go over and fix it. Took longer to jack the car up than do the fix but never mind. The following year (summer) I worked hard to get the Speedster reliable, she went over a few weeks before me in the Pluriel and I went later on in the Speedster. But she had fallen out of love with it.
So 4 trips per year over there for me while doing the place up i.e. from 2008 until this year, meant towing the trailer each trip except the summer one. We use the Pluriel for running around as it is cheaper to run and the Landy for hauling trailer and tons of wine.
But now I am retired we spend 180 days over here.
The house is nearly finished, but wifey cannot easily drive long distances, we will be getting a car trailer and using that. Her car on it packed with stuff and me doing the long distance drive.
As for buying and running a frog car. We have thought about it long and hard, but second-hand cars here are a heck of a price, French insurance ain't cheap, although admittedly there is no road fund licence. There is a faint possibility I might be able to get cheaper insurance either through what I used to do as a living (?!) or through sponsorisation through a friend (?!) don't know how that would work. But we have no garage, so storage when we are not here would be a bit of an issue. Buying a car to only run 6 months in the year...Hmmm! And then leaving the other one over there for the 6 months....Hmmm again! Two lots of insurance, two MOTs or controles techniques.... further Hmmm!

I do constantly look at older French cars, when I worked over here doing my year's "assistanat" I bought an old Renault 6 and enjoyed it immensely. One of the ugliest creations ever made by them but reliable as heck and ran all through the winter of 1978-9, which was one of the worst France had, up in Lille.

Once life settles down I may well build a car port over here and then we will see. Would like lots of different old French cars, there is a long list I fancy, but the price of these is even more eye watering than classics in the UK.
About the most affordable would be an old Peugeot 403, but boring or what? Even 2CVs go for €5k min. https://www.lacentrale.fr/listing?m...TROEN:2CV&options=&sortBy=priceAsc#B101336332
Do fancy a Fiat Panda 4x4 (1) but they are too desirable too! and seen as classics so not on here!
Only Disco 2 I could find under €10k!

Guid afternoon

Well actually not guid

90 failed its MOT on a few minor issues, one brake light bulb oot, indicator bulbs wrong colour ????? never touched them since last MOT ???
but also discs pitted/ corroded causing excessive pulsing thro peddle( I blame COVID resulting in lack of use)

Told the garage just to replace all so £1004.00 for the MOT, Service, discs and pads etc

My Aprilia RSV Mille is in for its MOT tomorrow, hopefully better luck, And typical weather warning in place for heavy rain all day geez

:(

That's bad luck :(

Well my last remaining cat is definitely no longer my friend.:(
She just came into my study clambered atop of some of my stuff on the floor and emptied her bladder.
Her recently cleaned cat-tray is just in the next room and the door is open.
I'm done, I really am. So very tempted to sling her in a cat basket and release her into the wild after a long drive some miles distant.
