Maybe they need educatingI'd be no help for the repopulation, but I'll test them out first anyways ...

I am heartbroken. Itchy took herself off to die.
We could not find her anywhere.
After a further detailed search I found her where she had hidden herself (between the back of the shed and the boundary fence).
She was collapsed/lying on her side, her eyes were open. I picked her up and she cried and cried. And so did I.
Vet has been contacted and I think her last journey will be at 4:15. I am gutted.

A final update on "Itchy"-Cat.
She's gone.
The vet examined her briefly and confirmed that her kidneys had more or less shut-down and that there was no way back for her.
Finding an accessible vein was equally hard as she was in "shut-down" mode.
Here she is as a kitten with her sister "Scratchy" who is now our only remaining cat of the 6 cats we had all at the same time.
I will miss her morning "padding" and her 2-tone purring while twisted upside down on top of my Duvet and enjoying a tummy-tickle and lug-rubs.
I feel for you, not a nice situation but at least she is now out of her obvious discomfort.I am heartbroken. Itchy took herself off to die.
