so my TD5's looking good, just want to slam it up a few inches. practicality wise, 70% on road 30% off road, all i need to complete the look is the lift, i know people say its not worth it because off the handling but i hate seeing 90s bigger than mine and thinking "wow.. i wish mine was that big, that guy looks SICK!!" also i do a lot of towing on beaches and take the odd trip into the shallows. 2" is fine for me, and i dont want to spend much more than 400. ill prob get away without changing hoses and radius/trailing arms.

all suggestions, makes, moddels, prices, dealers, shops, REVIEWS, would help.

is it cheaper going for a package or maybe pik'n mix

thanks guys will

nearly all usual parts suppliers will do springs and shocks separately or as a package. paddocks .mm 4x4 do a search. for £400 you can get sorted but probably not with top end shocks

because i prefer the way it looks?
the point the big haired one was making was what advantage do you get for the effort made to do the lift and the extra wear n tear on a mota that will have more than its fair share of work doing on it any way.
I agree, but its your mota.If the look of it is important to you do it. but looks aint lndies strong points

lol do a search for kits etc

if its just for looks why not get a 5 inch kit like MM4x4 do for rrc/disco, then you can big it up large like all the monster fenders lol :5bdriving:

that guy looks SICK!!"

possibly what every one will be saying about you when your towed off the beach by a standard defender which has working uj's, props, radius arms, non-vibrating transmission etc...

just dont bet on the bill stopping at 400

You seem to have an interesting pre-occupation with SIZE... Wonder what Freud would have had to say about this...?

Packages tend to work well as the springs are matched to the shocks, but you can actually get a set-up cheaper if you buy the bits individually.

The trouble is these days every ****er wants a lift kit usually for the wrong reasons. I seem to spend a lot of time shaking me head and thinking "what a knob".

what a waste of fooking money just because it looks nice , take the first corner wrong and you,ll have wasted your time and money ............ ffs just get some 2" spacers fitted

why not just lift the body 2", that way you won't need expensive props & radius arms ect. You should be able to get body lift spacers for less than £100.

mines lifted and i think it would look better if it wasnt, i got a good deal on parts though

because a body lift on a fender looks fookin stoopid, the rear x member will have to have some box section or similar attached to it to bridge the gap left by lifting the body,it looks feckin awfull,,

go for a suspension lift fcuk what everyone else says its your landy.

my lift has never caused me any problems

doesnt a lift kit help with more articulation? so less chance of being left with wheels in the air?
