I think the amazon stuff comes to about that if it 5 of each item.

The mallets are obvious, but the bowls will allow us to retire some of the older tattier bowls we have.

Does that do all cubs and scouts or what would cost be for 10 or 20 children? (May have something up my sleeve)

Pontyslapper. What are the things you guys are doing as a troop to raise funds. I saw something about old mobile phones. Anything we can do there? I have always had old ones in drawers.

Plus..... I have an irritating workphone i am just itching to bin right now ;)

We do cash in old mobiles. Its dried up with the magpie type firms who advertise heavily. We tend to get old knackered 3310s which are worthless.

Daniel. You are like the yoda of purchasing. I'm a mere student of the art. I was just feeding off the amazon idea to just get a few last odds and ends. The 5 mallets would cover the whole fleet of tents any more and scouts try lamping each other with mallets!

The bowls would've been to retire some old ratty ones that are probably 40 years old with busted enamel wtc. If you can work some magic so be it. If it helps we can forgo the mallets as I can probably get some locally when Tesco start heavy reductions. Our Tesco have boxes and boxes of mallets. Last year it was axes. I had a dozen at 25p each!!

Okay s a final part storm kettle to replace worn out one in the works

Just for transparency. At the bottom is the message from the chap who is supplying the storm kettle to replace our old worn out one. Its brand new, but 'second hand' never used - a bargain at £36.95 delivered as it cost him almost £60 new from Amazon. So we scored a bargain I think!!

Money squirted across via bank transfer. I threw the extra in the pot to secure this, also thanks to MHM for his donation for making this last minute addition possible.

Again a massive thanks to all LZer's who have donated towards the tents, pole kits, knives and the storm kettle - rest assured I will get photos of the troop using and enjoying the fantastic new kit that LZ has made possible.

Dear pontyslapper,
Hi ,
I've taken you at your word :) (one ex boy scout to another) and ended the listing , you can whizz £36.95 over to my bank account via a bank transfer to

DETAILS REMOVED FOR PRIVACY!

Never done this before so I don't even know how to give my PayPal details .............so it is a favour , under any normal circumstances I wouldn't end an auction early . Thanks anyway and it'll be sent on Monday .
Regards , Ray.

so doesn't sound insurmountable, scouts in one field and anyone else in another with out crb
adverse weather is called pack up and go home shelter in mini bus.

worth pointing out in HSE crazy world

Don't blame the HSE, it's the Scouts' own rules.

A bit like the CRB/DBS system. In addition to CRB/DBS clearance, adult helpers in the Scouts must accept " Duty to God – carrying into daily principles
of a religious faith or belief; belonging to a religious body; accepting that there is a higher being. " Source https://members.scouts.org.uk/supportresources/search/?cat=268,269

Okay slight hitch the tent company say issue with spare tent poles so we have tents and knives on way and paid for, this means with final discounts on tents we have £57 spare.

Can I still add a tenner?

We were away withut t'interwebby last week and just catching up an stuff?
pm me a paypal Fanny .. :)

Would it be ok to have the spare via paypal for it to be used as the LZ sausage, sauce n marshmallow fund?

I think that would be great. I was going to suggest that the scouts themselves have a vote on how to spent the extra and I am sure it would have been just this that would have won the vote! :)

Sent via Paypal, cheers Fanatic.

Great cause, hope the kids really enjoy it Pontyslapper .. ;)

PaulD £10
£67 in pot- call it £70
I'm not adverse to feeding scout group, it occurs to me there may be disadvantaged children- rather than single them out could we do all the kids?

Answer on a postcard

No probs. About a tenner gets us sausages, sauce n marshys for cubs n scouts for a fire night when we have a joint one. So there's 7 nights that we can do! Lets hope we get some dry Tuesdays this winter. Thanks again everyone. ;)
