Hi Guys just an update to be fair and I totally understand that some of you will disagree with whats been done and why etc, but its done for peace of mind more than anything as the girlfriend and kids will be using sometimes etc..

Ok...

Brand spanking new complete column fitted supplied by main dealer fitted by independent all working coded in and everything working as it should be now, the retail on the column inc vat was £3260 which was madness..

It ended up costing me £2100 hopefully I might get something back on my old unit as it works just the steering lock was jammed out after the breakdown but like you said on here im sure it could be pilot hole drilled lubed and all might be well, I just needed the peace of mind and basically it sorted quick before I did something drastic and blew my brains out with it hah ha...

So ive got a few goodies to add to her now she is back few bits to make her mine type thing nothing tacky though I hate tacky ..

So hopefully for now the RR will cut me a bit slack and behave after the big bill owned two weeks and spent a fortune..

That's range rover ownership for you....

If you can afford to chuck £2,100 plus labour at a sticky solenoid, you should be OK for the all the other things that are going to go wrong like gearbox and suspension etc.

Hi guys been out in the RR all easter weekend and its not missed a beat thank god ha ha

Ive bought a set of wheels of a bloke to as well and a few other mods to sort of make it mine some side grills and LED bulbs for interior and odds and ends as you do.

Need to sort the leather on bolster of seat and driver door handle grip etc...

Good news, be careful with some of the LED bulbs as i had some number plate LEDs that tried to catch fire and completely confused my light control module until i managed to track the problem down.

Regarding the leather, the link below was good for me, guy called Steve who sells the top end cleaners and kits etc. and will give you good advice on how to repair your leather if it's possible.

Stumbled on this last night while looking for starting problem cure, I just cannot believe someone shells out 12k for anything and almost immediately has to shell out another near 5k for a repair,my Glasgow nous tells me there is more to this than meets the eye ;)

Incidentally we cured the non starter l322 this morning with the simplest and easiest of fixes.....a new heavy duty 020 110ah battery, jobs a good un :)
