Hi All

Replacement 24V alternator arrived last week. Exchanged it for one fitted. Would you believe it? No good.

I now suspect it is the generator panel which is at fault and no one seems to have any anywhere. I missed one on Ebay 2 wweks ago too.

Had some welding done last year (new rear x member) and wonder if this damaged the diodes?

I have an excellent set of notes onthe 24V system produced by Clive Elliot from a Military Vehicle enthusiasts website and I've been out in the cold all day trying to sort this out.

Any ideas welcome. Looks like I'm off the road for a while.

1980 Series 3, 24V FFR LWB.

All the best.

sorry to hear that steam, were the batteries disconnected when the welding was done?

Don't know. I left vehicle at garage. Infact, it was there for several weeks as chap never seemed to get round to it. They did a good job of welding.

What does this panel look like and where on the vehicle is it located?

I have just stripped a load of army **** out of an 83 LWB radio vehicle and you never know, one of the bits I threw over my shoulder?

If I have it, it's yours for the postage. email me on rileyrm@eircom.net
