So my 2011 FL2 has an issue with the rear doors. They cannot be opened from inside, the child lock is set to off on both doors but people still cannot exit. Even pressing the unlock button upfront doesn't release them. Someone has to get out and let them out, like if the child lock was enabled.
It being both doors has me thinking that it could be some other setting that needs disabling rather than a issue with the door locks.

Any suggestion would be fantastic.

Blow torch and match then standing well back see if any movement releases the levers.

Seriously though if both have failed are the windows failing to work too.

If both have failed would that be a system failure than lever. The manual handling should counter any problems. But both sounds system.
I've seen the cables come off the release lever, resulting in the internal lever doing nothing. It would be unusual for both sides to come off, but maybe someone has had the door cards off, and didn't hook the cables back on again?

I've seen the cables come off the release lever, resulting in the internal lever doing nothing. That's why I don't own a Freelander anymore. reality is I should be banned from here because I don't own a land rover.

Those cars are pretty awkward to repair. How many of them broke during your ownership...?

Freelander's are no more difficult to repair than any other vehicle. I've done a lot of work on them over the last 20 years, not just mine, but other's vehicles too.
Having worked at a Citroën dealer for many years, I can say with confidence that the Freelander is a better vehicle to work on compared to the French staff.
