Hello
Please can I ask dose anyone know How to release handbrake in an emergency breakdown on a Freelander 2 it comes on automatically when engine stops ive had a near stall twice ,,,,,problems on way I expect,,, and i know if engine stop it will lock it up blocking road
Thanks

Turn the ignition on, foot on brake, press the parking brake switch to the off position. The car will now roll freely, until either the ignition is turned off, or the parking brake switch is moved to the on position.
It's described in the owners handbook. ;)

I may have dreamt this, but is there a 'service mode' where you hold both gear shift paddles with foot on pedal to release ? 🤔
In the workshop it is possible to reverse the current direct to the park brake on each wheel using a slave battery.
