I bet the neighbours in Old Welwyn love this idea :)

A wish from someone with a 2 year old 90, is somewhere that is challenging without damaging.

I want to get stuck, dirty and have fun without wrecking the car.
I took mine to Woodlands in Kent and although a great place, I was left with scratches down all panels.
On the same day 2 people ended up with broken windows ( tree damage ) and one person ended up with a broken steering rack.
if frit a scratchin it yud best stick t the black stuff!

An acre and a half quarry, one three ton digger, some very steep slopes, I'm allowed to open it 14 times a year, I just need some ideas of obsticles.

Any hardcore off roaders want to come and have a look and give some advice?? :D

Just off the A1 in Hertfordshire (Welwyn).

The Hertfordshire Laners (find us on the Green Laning Section) will come and tell you what's what. We've got a full selection of motors, from pretty standard right up to near challenge truck spec. It'll give you an idea of what vehicles will achieve what.
Devils Pit in Barton is about 80 acres of steep hills and clay mud, very extreme and pretty damaging.
Whaddon nr Milton Keynes is 100 acres of muddy fields and bomb holes.

1.5 acres is very small for a 4x4 site. very easy to get very bored, very quickly, plus the congestion could soon **** people off. Devils Pit grinds to a halt when someone gets stuck.

If I may count myself amongst the Hertfordshire Laners, then you could say from completely standard. (For now at least!)

Some of our Herts lot are near to you. I'm sure that most of us would love to come over and see what you've got. There's a lot of experienced guys (and a few noobs) and also triallers and so on.

Post a mention in the hertfordshire lanes thread and we'll arrange something.

Oh and.... hope your track enjoys the greatest success... you can rely on us lot to be there regularly!

Friend of mine has 60 acres of woodland with hills, pools, 2 streams and about 3 acres of bog. He is thinking of opening it back up again but this time just to quad bikers. As he found it can become over crowed and churn the hole place up.
Luckery he said his friends can still make good use of it, although im sure he can be proswaded for 4x4's.

I think you could be fine with an acre, just have to limit numbers and make it pretty dam good/unique.

All the best of luck

Hi again Lone ranger if you need help with what you can do just pm and we will come and have a look. Many many moons ago some of us helped lay out Devils Pit for Simon although that has evolved alot since then. Jai
