hi all this painting did u have to inform the dvla of paint colour change ?
I did with mine when I painted it grey from the original blue. It's FOC anyway so best to inform them.

If my V5 just says green and I'm painting it olive drab do I have to tell them or is that fine cos its a shade of green ?
No that will be fine ... they would only put green down on the V5 anyway. Nearly didn't bother with mine because the grey is slightly blue. The DVLA only use base colours, not shades of!
What if you've got two colours though i.e. Camo, tiger stripe etc?
Here we go, there's always one! :blabla::blabla:
I think you have to put the base colour down or the colour that it most looks like! Often wondered what those VW Polos with multi coloured panels have on their V5 though ... or the Smart Car where you can just swap the panels at your leisure on a daily basis
If in doubt just put Pink and it will automatically be registered as a Gaylander

When I did mine a few yrs back, the MOT man just changed the colour when he did the mot< he put down biege/black.
What type of paint did you use for the rubber windscreen trim?
