Hi,

I have just recently bought a L322. I cant find the manual for the car, just the service book, the radio-manual etc.

I want to disassemble the tow bar. Just the hook itself, because I don`t want to drive with it assembled all the time. But how to do it? I am afraid of breaking stuff by just trying and failing.

How is the right way to do it?

It makes an excellent reversing sensor, if not for you, for the idiot reversing up to you when parking.

If it is the same as a sport/disco you need a small key with a red plastic top to unlock it before removal if not the same then no idea?

As above, there should be a key. If not on your keyring then look in the boot, under the floor there is a molding in the foam for the towbar to stow in. Your alloy wheels key should be in there as well.

depends if you have a detachable swan neck or fixed with drop plate.

Assuming it is a LR product it will be one of those above.

If you have a detachable swan and not the key don't worry.

if you loo under the car and follow the box section back from whichever tow bar you have you will come to a nut and bolt. (the bolt is in shear to the pull load) you simply undo this and withdraw the bolt. the tow bar can then be removed.

enjoy...

Id never take mine off i use my towbar as a reversing aid at work.
there small parking bays so I just back up to the wall till I hear the "dummp" then roll forward an inch :D

Thanks for all replies. I will probably leave it out most of the time, but just like to know how things work. have the key, so will give it a go later! Appreciate all the replies!

so you have a swan....
use the key, pull the knob and it will fall down/off.
make sure you put the red plug in to safe guard the connection.

:)

The heavy duty ones offer more protection

But I don't require one for parking unlike others :p

The butler parks it for me

Lol
