Right,latest update.
Went out to start the vehicle this morning, turned over and nearly caught on the second rev, then took about 10 second of cranking to start.Which is a long time in cranking terms.Turning over fast.Started with the over-fuel smoke and then ran fine,no light, nada.
I was going to continuity test the EDC loom by taking the plug off,but 8V,you tell that the EDCecm has to be reset by testbook....is that just if it goes onto a different vehicle,to get it in synch?Or otherwise surely taking the battery off would bugger it.I take it from what you say that it is a synch issue and so long as I take the plug off mine and it goes back onto the same ecm then there will be no trouble.
The point to that is,since I have new sensors in the head and in manifold that had very badly melted wiring,I think there is an issue with the loom.I would like to put in fresh wire from the multiplug to the sensors, ideally. And fit a variable resistor pot in line at the same time to advance the timing if and when the new sensors or wiring fail. But that a side issue.
In essence....am I free to disconnect the EDC multiplug without any re-setting or testbook issues arising?Anyone?
