Okay, start the clock!

New rocker cover gaskets installed yesterday, (along with new set of rubber hoses throughout) and cleaned the breathers, not that they needed it.
The bolts holding the covers on I could undo with my fingers so they'd vibrated loose or something. I put a drop of threadlock on this time, hopefully that'll stop it happening again.
We'll see.

Water pump leaking from the spindle and it's not that old euro car part I bought to swop out the shXT part one I fitted when I bought it I didn't keep the receipt think I paid cash so no idea how long it's been in......18 months at most.

Since replacing the top hose that exploded (weakened back when the engine had been replaced but the AC cooler had been choked, fouling up the flow of cooling air to the rad) and stopping the leak at the throttle body, I have still the same amount of coolant in the expansion bottle. However, it's fair to say she's averaging about twenty miles a week at the moment due to the sheer amount of pain I am STILL in :( Saw Surgeon & a new doc who both agree I need that MRI ASAP as opposed to the end of October when the radiology dept decided to book my "non urgent" appointment for! :eek:o_O

Also, since I sorted out the engine, there is little or no leaking there. The gearbox cooler is still sitting in it's new packaging as I am still unable to get in about it due to the above mentioned pain o_O However, it leaks very tiny amounts, but they look like a lot when they spread on the ground and only then when she's at full working temp having driven a good few miles. I could order new pipes (I didn't at the time) and get on with it and wait for DubbleRR to get his arse up and help me :D I'll even supply the KitKats :p

I may even want his help sorting out my height adjustment since she just wants to go full height ALL the time...

I'm resetting this for my car as I had a mystery coolant leak thought it was from the water pump but no, I swopped out my metal T price coming of the top of the radiator back to the plastic one bled it out and all seems good no puddle under the car this morning so I'm x1 day coolant leak free.

:(yip, pump seals! Still have'nt done them, got a whole pump seal kit as well!! My only worry is getting the cap back into the exact postion. I dont have the nanocom suite so im just a bit nervous...:(

Scribe all sides across all joins. Not sure I'd do it without diagnostics as it can get upset just taking the top section off, especially the security bolt. Don't bother buying the special socket. Just buy a cheap socket and hammer it on. Cannot remember the size off the top of my head. Might have been 7mm.

How many miles has the car done? If over 120k I would estimate the pump is getting worn and you might as well just swap for a refurbed one.
