Had a manual diesel P38 for 3 years. Gearbox rebuilt once (£600) and then 2 years later hads to have an exchange unit from Ascrofts (£900ish) which is what I should have done in the first place. Stupidly took it to a '''transmission specialist''''. Never again. Also had a new air pump. Still got the old one so that's due for a rebuild. Couldn't get the bits then. Sold that and ran a Ford Explorer for a few months. Good bus but they're prone to expensive engine failures (timing chain problems). Then got the Vogue 50. Fell in love with the colour. Beautiful interior and all the goodies that you can think of - including a VHS tape player in the back and a now defunct analogue TV tuner. Only had 62000 when I bought it and is only up to 72000 now. I'm not so bad with this one as I don't need to run it every day for work - I work offshore so no commuting as such. I also run an old Peugeot 306 diesel as a dog/rubbish run car. Cheap as chips and keeps the Rangie smelling nice for when I do get chance to use it. It also keeps the sense of occasion intact. There's not a lot I'd swap it for. I also bought a Classic off ebay a few weeks ago to use up in the wilds of Dunoon - look out for a black one Kenny. Have to get an MOT on this next time home. May be interesting
