My tired 110 95 CSW can sit around 75 for a few hours, but as so many others say, the noise is diabolical. However, as some form of revenge when it stops, it pishes oil out all over the road and is often reluctant to start afterwards.

My old S3 would do 50 all day towing a caravan. Solo it'd do 60+ but wasn't happy, so 50 again ..

the Disco will do whatever I want .. but about 42 tops in low box ... following 90boy etc on Long Mynd weekend and I didn't put it in high box thinking it was only a short road section ...

the most ive seen so far was 74 and that was gettin scary 2.5na on 205's lol

my 110 csw has a midly tuned 300tdi in it along with a 1.2/1 transfer box running on 238/85's, I have seen 121mph on Sat Nav when I was late for ferry !! Over here on our "motorways" it will cruise at 100mph - 160kmh all day (on sat nav as my speedo is miles out) but here we are ok as there are only 2 speed cameras in the whole of Portugal!! Mind it does use up some of our cheep fuel at those speeds !!

I was going down the A1 from porto to Lisbon 2 years ago and must have seen 300 police cars going in convoy on the other side of the motorway..

My 300Tdi 110 sat at 80mph all the way down from North Wales (M54/M6/M1) back to London with 5 people and lots of climbing equipment / rucksacks in the back. Tend to sit at 65/70 as it's a little kinder on the engine and my wallet.

Has seen just the other side 90 once or twice. Running on a set of 265/85R16 BFG ATs.

I get 90 out of a 200tdi with stock wheels. It would probably do more but I never dared. The speedo said 70 but someone who was following me in a brand new ford focus told me I was actually doing 85.

I know that feeling - the speedo on my Series III oscillates anywhere between 30 and 55 when up to speed...
