this may be a dome question but how do i set/use the cruise control on my "96" p38 tried the "set" button on the stering wheel but nothing am i missing something?

there is a switch with a motorway on it, you need to pess this switch in first, its near the ride height switch on the centre console!

also, after you've pressed the main switch with the motorway, and then the 'set' switch on the wheel, you can then press the set switch again to increase the speed. I think one click = 1mph increase. Switch on the other side cuts the cruise control briefly for the car to slow down, then you can re-engage it by pressing the set button again.

Just touching the Brake Peddle will also deselect it, press the reset button on the wheel to resume.
Be careful though, I don't know about the P38, but the Classics would slam onto full throttle, including kick down if necessary, although the later ones are more gentle.

Good place to start is by reading the handbook that should come with the car:D If you do not have the handbook download RAVE, which includes the handbook.:behindsofa:

If you can't get it to engage, there is a very common problem with the vacuum pipe which splits at the t-joint to the diaphragm and stops the c/c working.

tried down loading one from rave but cant get it to read .
just need to find out what the circle button next to the ride hight indicator (think it could be boost for the eas)
check the auto box oil
then green lanes here i come

I believe that button locks it into whatever height you're in. If you're in access mode tho, and you lock it, a message will come up about keeping your speed down and I think it bleeps at you.

According to the handbook, the button is for use when towing, it stops the suspension automatically sinking to cruise height at 50mph. I use it with my caravan. I think it also locks at other heights as above but I have not tried that.
