I must have ordered about 3 different sets of wipers now, they never fit. Not sure if my D2 has non standard windscreen wiper arms, but nothing seems to fit. The end of them is a U shape with a hole in both sides. Is that normal?

I really want the Bosch Aero style wipers, anyone know how to make these fit a D2, and which code/model to buy of the wipers?

thanks

Disco 2 wipers are an odd set to find. Most D2 owners get them off of eBay or Amazon.
I swapped out for Disco 1 wiper arms and any regular wiper blade fits them now.

I have the D1 arms fitted to be able to use "normal" blades and they work well regardless of brand except any kind of aero blades which didnt wipe well at the middle, tried Bosch too, not good, IMO for aero bades decicated arms must be fitted with stronger springs to have better pressure on the screen

Is that a fairly easy job? I may do likewise, thanks

If you mean these (https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/car...ch-pair-of-windscreen-wiper-blades-807-detail) they won't fit on mine, I think I may have bought a set of those only to find I don't have a hook on end of the arm!

Interesting thanks. I have tried all BUT the aero blades, after seeing them work so well on our transit I thought I'd try them. I actually have trouble with it not wiping around the middle the blade length, had that trouble with all bladles so probably asking for trouble with the aeros. I wonder if what I really need is stronger springs in the arms.

Spent a year being pi55ed off with my wipers now, something's gotta give. New arms or new springs if they are possible to get, anyone know?

thanks again guys

Do your arms look like this? If so then you are missing the wiper blade to arm retaining clips (DKW100020). With them you will be able to attach a pair of Bosch 807 blades. It your arms don't look like this then can you post a photo please?

Thanks, yes they are identical to that. I did just order some of those clips as mine fell apart when i took the blades out :)
Thanks again

To be honest I just get wiper blades from a the local specialist, always fitted.

You may find you need to slightly loosen the clips that hold the blades, except for the one on the end that will stop it from disappearing!
Then the blade will follow the contours of the screen. ;)

It is an easy job to swap to all 3 Disco 1 wiper arms onto a Disco 2. It’s even cheaper if you get all 3 wiper arms from a scrapped Disco 1. Just remember to acquire also the 3 retaining nuts and the 3 wiper arm caps that cover the nuts.

That's interesting, I don't have a problem with the front wipers, but I'm not impressed with the rear wiper arm on my D2. The spring feels too strong for the blade, and there's not enough clearance between the arm and the windscreen seal, so as the blade wears a bit it folds over and the underside of the arm scrapes the rubber seal. I've had several now, and I modified the latest one by heating it and reshaping it a bit to give more arch to it, but it sounds like the D1 arm is the way to go - thanks for the tip!

DAMMIT!! My mate popped round last week to say "scrapping my D1, just wondered if you want any bits". It was a bit of a heap so I said no thanks. FFFFFFFFS!

I have exactly that problem. My lovely almost mint D2 has a horrible looking back windscreen thanks to scratches. I have wondered why it's doing it, tried countless wipers, even a replacement arm (used from fleabay). I assumed the rod which goes through the door was bent, messing up the angle (as the wiper seems to tilt forward and rolls over as it wipes, sounds like yours).
I might try removing it and actually bending the retaining the rod slightly to adjust the angle. Bloody horrible, can't use the rear wiper at all!

Have to confess to being totally bemused by this thread.
To the extent that I actooly went and looked at the tailgate window of my D2 this morning. Neither end of the wiper blade comes anywhere near the edge of the glass so the window seal is fine. And I have replaced the blade, as I have the front ones, simply by going to my local branch of Motabitz and getting theirs. So it could be Bosch or it could be anything. They simply clipped on, once the lock was slid along the blade holder.
No scratched glass, nuffin.
Sorry I can't be any more help, but I do think that therefore it is possible to buy replacements for standard D2 blades without having to go to the lengths of replacing everything with stuff off a D1. and BTW the driver's side arm has the aero thing on it. It still wipes fine, but as I said upthread the blade holder does need to be checked and of course should never be fitted to a screen that has not been cleaned first.
Best of luck with all this.

If the wiper blades aren’t torn and are in good nick, try cleaning them with pure white vinegar and a paper towel. You’ll be amazed how dirty the blades are.
