so is it a free pay n play site now?

no idea what the crack is with it like i said the gate is always wide open now been like that now for about 3 weeks or so.

Last time I went was '07 for an RTV trial. At the time it was mostly a bit wet with dryer bits .. OKish for AT's, better with MT's. Very deeply rutted, trails are very awkward to negotiate, ought to be one-way 'cos if you meet someone there's no chance of getting out of them!

In my view, would be OK if laid out decently and looked over, if it's left for Pay 'n Play then I think it'd soon turn into a mudbath, but not in a good way! Good for a practice area, winch practice, recovery practice, Trials practice ....

Overall I'd go again, but I wouldn't be prepared to pay much for a day there ... ;)

Worth it for that .. 'specially for charity .. and even more especially if it's for Macmillan Nurses. They helped my family a lot when dad was dying of cancer.

The gate is always open to holymoorside but please do not play on there unless its an organized event, A few months ago we went up there for a pnp that had been cancelled (nobody told us). While waiting for someone to turn up the farmer turned up we got chatting and he told us he now leaves the gate open because people had been damaging the gate to gain access and he had replaced the gate twice, he also told us that he didnt mind people going on there but the peak national park authorities had been coming to inpect the site for damage/errosion caused by 4x4s, so he has decided to limit the number of events he holds there.

Theres a guy called gary who holds events up there and at padley wood i can pm you his number if it helps.
