I have my Freelander 1 td4 booked in for replacement pump
Just wondered what your thoughts are on the new pump
I found second hand at £65 to £100 or refurbed at about £260
Not a fan of refurbed stuff bought a steering box for my defender and it leaked more
than the one, I took off guess that's not always the case, also what can I expect to pay for the job?

I was in the same situation 2 years ago. Fitted a used one for £70.00, no good. Cost me an extra 2 days off work.
Bought a refurb from a diesel specialist for £250.00, fitted all good since

If you plan on keeping the car for a while i'd get a refurb.
Special tool need to remove pump. I have one if you need it, thats if you plan on doing it yourself. Job takes 3-4 hours including brews

I'd also go the refurb route. It'll save having to change the thing twice.

yeh..I better check with him, any info on the best place to find recon pump
I just hope that's where the dripping is coming from.

No. It's a proper seals kit for the Bosch CP1 fuel pump. There's just no guarantee that fitting the kit will solve a leak issue. I've had mixed success with kits on this pump, so think it better to simply fit a reconditioned pump.
