So I've just got back from a trip to go and see/test drive it. Dealer claims that the mileage discrepancy is due to the MOT technician noting the number down wrong and they're in the process of correcting it.

The car drove well, very smooth. But lots of cosmetic issues that I'm not happy with for a 24k car. Every wheel had bad curb rash. Pretty much all of the buttons had started to wear. Leather was tatty. Several very large scratches on the body work.

So the verdict is that I am sold on L405s but not this one. The hunt continues. For 24k I expect not to have curb rash on every wheel lol.

Thanks all for chipping in!
I have heard that story about a mileage discrepancy:rolleyes: I kept the vehicle but after I provided documentary evidence of the correct mileage and threatened to pass it over to the Police, I got 30% of the purchase price back:)

I can understand the technician getting one number wrong but not that large a discrepancy.;) try a 4.4tdv8 .

Yeah I'm definitely not in a rush. Would happily take a year+ to find the right one cos I like my current car lol
Best way to be cars always drop in price so a better deal can always be had later, many years of car buying has taught me that if a can looks at all dodgy it normally is, if buying privately always look at the way the owner is and lives,

If you want to see a MINTER, come and see mine pal.

Yeah I didn't buy that excuse. If they actually do fix it then fair play but I ain't buying it to find out :D
They used to call it clocking so thats what they will be doing to fix it mate. Avoid it.

FYi, the L405's dash can also be changed to KM's reading via the steering wheel functions albeit such a large gap would still be dodgy. Like i said they are great cars but also complicated cars.
