Update!
After talking to @pwood999 ,
I got I touch with Incartec.
They pointed me to this after an email with the original stereo numbers and plug types.
So this is what I got ..

sitting under the head unit is the high to low converter.
No steering wheel unit included as I wasn't to fussed about the controls not functioning.
It works a treat, it also has adjustable output controllers so the sensitivity can be adjusted to suit your listing levels. I.e. seriously loud or reasonable.
Installed with the micro phone in a spare blanking plug in the dash.

And can bother people while I'm driving my Range Rover... Via the mic...

That looks like a nice tidy installation! What was your total cost please?

Thanks.

In Euros,
jvc kd-x351bt head unit 69€.
The high to low adapter was 53€ Inc postage.
Depending on your stereo.
Mine has the h+kardon speakers with a sub.
I had sent them pictures of the stereo and the plugs on the rear and they advised to use this system.

Sounds (pun intended) cost-effective if the sound quality is there.
I need to tweak mine as CD player won't come out to play.
When that's sorted, I'll decide whether to stick with current Harmon Kardon + sub, or change.

Sorry... Forgot ask Mark; was the new unit a "straight swap" into the "hole" vacated by OE unit, or was some "fettling" necessary by removing some plastic/using an extra piece of trim?
Cheers.

Same dimensions for the new head units cage. I just need to source the aftermarket side trim parts that make up for the smaller facia size.

The newer stereo unit being a multi media type means the body is only 3/4 the depth of a standard unit. Bearing in mind all the gubbins that go in behind it, i.e. the iso leads and high/low adapter... It's a god send it is shallower:eek:

I'll add, that the speaker system is all standard and nothing modified so to keep as much as possible standard beneath it's skin. Less to put standard.....iiiiiiiifff and ever sell it.

No....my dsp amp died they cannot be repaired...I tried soooooo rewired the door speakers installed the android retained steering wheel controls all mod cons its great

The amp is in the rear left compartment behind the CD changer, if you have one which I doubt with the set up you have now installed I think you have separate door amps
