How do Allan.

Where do you source your baulk rings from?

The reason I'm asking is that I've just replaced mine at £6.00 each from Craddocks these have a series of rings machined in the bore, The original ones didn't have these rings but did look to be coated with some sort of friction material.

Since I replaced them I happened to be in Stratstone parts dept and asked for the price of the genuine baulk rings, they were £30.00 each.

Now are the genuine ones the same as craddocks' with the rings machined in them or are they like the ones I replaced, and which are better?

Hi Grunt.
Thanks for the contact.
We prefer, where possible to fit genuine or O.E. parts when rebuilding our gearboxes. The rings where manufactured all brass or with the "teflon" type coating. The latter being the most prefered. There is a shortage of coated rings at present as with various other parts from Land Rover. The only alternative is the all brass type.
Kind regards,
Allan from LEGS.
