Greetings all,

I'm the owner of a 2001 P38 4.6L NAS and enjoy it very much. I'm here to ask questions regarding an upcoming engine rebuild and to help others with their maintenance questions as I can.

Cheers!

Welcome.
So, here's the deal. North American types, like you, show up at the LZ infrequently and don't hang out long. Having grown up in the Pacific northwest and now a denizen of Colorado, I am disappointed at that.

So, I implore you to stay (you will have to because of that P38) and participate in our forum.

I know, the British are abundant here, which can be a source of both bemusement and chagrin, but give it time. It's worth it.

Thank you everyone for the very warm welcome! My friend and I (also on here but I don't know his username) represent well when we're 4x4ing!
My daily driver 'The Bear' has 151,000 miles and has been very reliable.

Welcome to landy zone. From my extensive knowledge of Washington state gleaned from watching hours of NCIS and Bones, it looks a great place to live if they could only get the murder count down to that of an average African dictatorship.

Washington State's more of a True Detective Season 1 kind of place. :)

What mileage you at, and what’s NAS?

Welcome

Currently at 151,000 miles and she is my daily driver and offroading machine.

Early last year I went through and replaced the fuel pump, circuit board and relays, the coolant lines, radiator, overflow tank, all of the liquids, dropped the oil pan and cleaned that out. I also did any leaking gaskets at the same time, swapped to KONI's, did most of the easier bushings, panhard and other rod, and steering damper. Plugs, magnecor wires, and coils also. Repaired the SAI. Also replaced all the rusted screws and bolts, filters, throttlebody heater and what not not directly mentioned. I also swapped the interior out of my parts vehicle. Jesus.

In the next 12 months I'll do an engine top end / total rebuild, put it back on air suspension, the UJs, all the bushings, wheel bearings, the ball joints, and replace the stereo.
