Looking for a wee bit of info on a 200 tdi gearbox with no reverse gear? when i say no reverse i mean that all gears work with not to many problems(slight crunching at times) exept reverse won't engage at all? knowlage of disco td5 and will do my best to answer any questions, knowlage of fabrication of all kinds. cheers

does lever go over to reverse or is it tight as there is a reverse plunger to enable 1st gear selection under tin top cover on disco or on drivers side under gearstick turret on defender, they can seize,if lever goes across but not in reverse switch can be wound into far ,or if lever goes across and into what should b e gear either gear worn or lever inside come adrift

Cheers pal. I had found that out this morning by a phone call but the reverse light switch was indeed too far in and just needed a slight adjustment. Many thanks

Hi James, with new clutch kit and thrust bearing on a reconditioned lt77 gearbox driven by a 1993 200tdi defender how do you adjust the pedal as it is right to the floor to work nearly? can it be done by bleeding? it works but crunches and just feels to low on the pedal? cheers

bleeding .and check reservoir for splashing ,means its on its way out and slave for leaks as its not oil it loses but ai it sucks in

The clutch release forks are known to wear through and give similar symptoms, was it checked for wear on the pivot point or replaced along with the clutch?
