Hi Guys,
I run a specialist land rover breakers in Shropshire and i have just searched for myself on here and there are some nice encouraging comments which is nice, thanks.
Anyhow.........
We buy CAT B write off cars as many breakers do, most of the time we get keys for the cars we buy but sometimes they dont appear with the cars.
The 200 and 300 manuals we can get running with no keys no problems but we are struggling with the 300 Discovery autos with the EDC and the funny looking fuel inj pump. ( we dont have keys or the alarm plipper)
We can get them to crank over either with a screwdriver in the back of the barrel or by powering up the starter directly off the battery.
But we can not get any fuel through the pump up to the injectors.
We have removed the solonoid cover and powered up the solonoid directly too and it still does not seem to allow fuel to the injectors.
It is imperative that we run all our engines up to temperature in order to be confident that we are selling a good reliabel engine to folks like you fellow members.
Without being able to run them up we end up selling what may be a very good engine as a non runner!
This has become a problem at the moment as we are breaking 3 bloody autos this week!
They are late autos 1997-1999 and with the AMR6228 bosch diesel ECU in the drivers footwell.
Am i missing powering something up here that will allow fuel through? is the pump supposed to get a feed from the Diesel ECU as well ????????/
IM at a loss now and i need to get these running.
Now Td5s with no keys................well there lies another thread!
Thanks
