Hey guys, I'm Greg, i'm 18 and from Basingstoke! I'm an old VW person at the moment but I feel the need to move over to the Land Rover side. I'm looking to get a series 2 rag top to take me to college everyday and do a bit of greenlaning in. If I can bear to sell my beloved 1970 Vw type 3 Fastback that is

thanks for the reply's guys. If you don't mind me asking scott how much was your insurance, and who through? I'm paying £500 at the moment through footman james for the fastback, wondering how much a landrover would cost.

Ahhh, yes,

Well as you can see i have a 3.5L V8,
I looked into insurance costs and it was something like £2500!!
However i have not yet passed my test as i have left it kinda late.
Im on my dads insurance at the moment as the landrover was his and still in his name. Then when i pass my test its gonna cont me alot in insurance lol.
If it helps we are with NFU Mutual and they seem a good company as we have never had any trouble with them.

Oh right, I was just quite interested as to how you got insured on a 3.5litre V8 at our age!!! Are you at QMC or BCOT?

Hi,

Yeah im not looking forward to spending all that money on insurance, lol.

Im at BCOT.

If u want to get into a local landrover club, my mate started one up at the end of last year, the website is www.lanerovers.co.uk and they are based in farnborough. all really friendly and we do quite alot of green laning. There is also a monthly PUB meet as well. in farnborough.
