Actually we are working on some replacement software for the BECm to get rid of alarm system and being able to use another plip for the doors :)
I am located just north of Oslo in Norway.
We are a bunch of old computer hackers that have grown old and find fun in old car stuff instead:)

Suppose when you get older you have to find something to do in the long dark times up there. When you are younger occupying yourself in the dark is a lot easier. :D:D:D`

Here is some info and stuff on my Hevac panel project.
Since a lot of Hevac displays and fan buttons don't work very well after over 10 years in service I decided to make a new one.
I traced all signals on the main board and scrapped the front panel and mainbaord cpu.
It is now replaced with an Arduino with a color touch lcd.
The front plastic part is printed out on a Replicator2 FDM printer in black pla.
The buttons have also been re arranged a bit and they all have a RGB LED beind them.
The AUTO function has been removed. The PROG function has been changed so it depends on outdoor climate so it really has a chance to defrost the window in cold climate. It also has wider tolerance for distrubion motors so they still would work even after they are old.
The diagnosis is built in and can be accesed via the touch lcd or bluetooth via Android.
The display is also use for displaying engine data and EAS controls.
The software and hardware is of course open source so anyone can adapt it to their own needs and add or change functions as needed.

Brilliant

Sounds interesting. I'd be tentatively interested too...

Any more info on the EAS system? That could certainly be interesting...

(Did I overuse the word interesting in this post?)

so have you already got a Demo unit up and running ? love to see a pic..
how much testing and de-bugging are you planning before we all buy one !!

ha ha

As my HEVAC display is playing up I'd love to replace it with one of these. Seeing as dealers want over £500 for a replacement unit this could be a very good alternative way to go.

I'm in.

Seen them for between £33 & £150 on Ebay:)

Got one few weeks ago, flea auction £41 all in, just need to be there when it ends

I still have some reversing on the connections to blend motors left. Most of the frontpanel software is done.As soon as all is soldered in I can do the analog to digital readings and tweak the drivers to stop at the correct positions.
When it works "ok" I will do the pcb's profesionally so it is an easy and durable operations to convert the old units.

just wondering what happens when more than one bidder uses auction sniper. who is going to win :D
