I'll be putting my next one in some form of water tight housing. I don't know about the latest model but the earlier ones were not water tight.

Took car to a local injection specialist and they tested the injectors. Seems one was overfuelling badly and another underfuelling. Injectors being replaced today so hopefully this will sort out my smoke and idle problem.

Have had the car back a couple of weeks now and it's not missing a beat so injectors were definitely the problem.
