Them Pics are great, I don't think any pic will fully capture the true Chaplegale feeling. I think Chaplegate was my favourite with Pindale second, stanage and then the tight lane we did on the way back to the camp site from Bakewell that was oh so close to the wall. I'll try and get my pics to my pc and bring them along on Wednesday evening. Jai

I know what you mean about Chapel Gate, photographs just don't do it. You had to be there Toughest terrain I've ever driven, that wasn't just mud.

Pindale was really interesting, totally hidden from it's surrounding countryside.

Stanage Edge was really good I thought, not too extreme and we proved that even a pretty standard motor can do it with good spotting.

The first lane we did across the moor was great for scenery and the mix of terrain.

The one on the way back from Bakewell, was the biggest surprise of all. 90% of it you could drive in a family car, until the last bit. I thought 'this is going to be interesting' I was brushing both sides, it was so tight. I didn't notice the stone wall behind the foliage at first, lucky I did.

it was really nice to drive the different terrain rocks and hard soil instead of the local mud. The weather was great too. Jai

I'm right glad you all enjoyed it ..

You were lucky with the weather, in those conditions Stanage is pretty easy. When it's wet, even just damp, it's a cracker to do ... all the rocks seem to be coated in ice and you slip and slide everywhere, grip is a big issue, so picking a line is crucial, makes it a challenge!!

Same with Chapelgate, fantastic lane, challenging but do-able ... when wet it's hard work, when snowing it's a right b'stard and not easy even with winches!

yea was a great trip, had loads of fun, and only got rained on once on the way home, so far the weather seems a little scared of the old girl, long may it continue. i have to say though driving on the motorway with no roof or door tops in rain was interesting! i think phil may have a photo of it

Spyderman - are your seats cobra classics? i'm watching a couple on ebay, as long as they are leather im not overly bothered though - easier to clean

Yes my seats are Cobra Classics, PVC though, not Leather. New on ebay, only paid £30 for the pair. Would have prefered leather though.

i think i will end up getting whatever is cheap, as long as they are comfy im not bothered, need the cash for the winch, tyres, etc

From this jaunt i really need to fit,

Lecky fan,
Much lower gearing,
loose my stupid worn out polybushes,
And fit my interior.
Polybushes only lasted since salisbury some less only 4 months and they are shagged already! Ill be going back to soft rubber in future these 'Comfort' polybushes are crap and give a harsh ride!

Well boys and girls, what can I say - a fabulous weekend. Good weather, good lanes and good company!

Great photos everybody. Glad you all got back with no problems. I landed this morning just after 11:00am. Did the working out and it is a bit steep but not a bad as you might think. I did 650 miles in total so thats lots of fast motorway work, traffic jams, bimbling along the country roads and laning. Cost in fuel £200.00. Allowing for what's left in the tank the avaerage was 17mpg which isn't as bad as I was expecting out of the old girl.

Looking forward to the pub meet on Wednesday.
