Hi everyone, looking to make it to next months pub meet, but probably won't be able to do any laning for a few weeks, well skint since getting back from Cornwall.

Would that be a three door shell? If it is, are the side panels in decent condition? particularly the bits just behind the drivers door .. mine have a touch of the aly-rot ..

If OK to the above, how much would you want for both side panels? Or full shell if necessary?
 
its a 5 door Paul sorry you are welcome to any bits that have not already gone hell the shell isnt that bad compared to alot of motas on the road. but the front panel has been cut away around the rad.
 
kris mate summit weird is going on with the clutch. done slave, and everything works. but after longer distances on the motorway it sitl revs if i put the foot down properly - but only in 4th. all other gears seem ok, cept the fact that the clutch is high as a giraffes ass
 
will see if i can fit summit in - im off on friday though. its odd, its only 4th, and only after a long old stretch on the motorway - cept the clutch being high as fook

helo how is every1, wot condition is the shell in and is it for sale, stil not got money for new panels so am gona try and get second hand bits, realy need it b on the road lol.
 
Ref Carpy clutch issue.

Your description of the problem with your clutch is common problem.

Without seeing the item in person I can only be 99% sure it is the problem.

You have incorrectly set the clutch hight and in doing so incorrectly set the clutch pedal without having enough free play.

You need to readjust the pedal hight and make sure you have some FREE PLAY in the pedal. If you do not allow the master cylinder to completely bottom out then pressure is retained each and every time you press the clutch. Long journeys and vibration will keep up the pressure.

You will find the clutch will slip more and more until you fix the free play issue.

Unless you have done something really crazy then this IS your problem. It is a classic mistake made by home mechanics and one I have seen and rectified personally many times in the past.

The gear you are in has no relationship to the problem other than the fact lower gears will have an easier time accelerating the car and at present you can transmit enough torque for this to happen. Unless you fix the problem you will find the clutch will slip in lower and lower gears until you burn out the clutch and then that cheap master cylinder has cost many times more bucks than you originally planned.

You will find the procedure for setting enough free play in all good haynes or land rover manuals.

I presume we're having our pub meet as usual, in which case I hope to see you all on Wednesday. The Rangie is running again after a bit of front prop shaft surgery this weekend just got a curious intermittent misfire to eradicate (dizzy is looking favourite).

Good bank holiday Ta, Big Thank you to Gibbo Phil for ferrying my Chassis back from Wiltshire. I owe him a pint or two. Chassis being built up for a trialler. Will be ebaying some stuff asap to pay for the hybrid. Power steering box 4 bolt, Disco seats, wheels n tyres broncos, mirrors door parts etc.
