JH Congratulations on getting it all back together again! Seems like you have had a marathon session!

I'm just gearing up for a session of bolting it all back together this weekend. Still trying to confirm the actual lengths of the bolts in various xfer box locations (if anyone has a diagram for me now would be good ;))
does rave not show anything, i got a manual for a 95 rangerover that goes into detail about the xfer box but i dont no if there the same.

Carpy, Im leaving Wycombe at 0800ish for Waddon on Sun. Meet me at Hughenden Manor by 0815 if you wanna follow me up.

Well I checked my CB works ish well from an old 1989 hand held CB to my vahicle I could hear up until about 800 meters away. really need to check it before going anywhere important tho Jai

I had a similar problem .. worked fine when we were in a carpark or within a few hundred yards, but nothing of any real use ... traced to the microphone leads. On mine it's a four wire connector, and only two were connected! Might be worth checking .. ;)

Well it was all setup working Its a midland 121 Alan well I think I may have nicked the co-ax but I think the handheld was letting the side down for range purposes anyways.

Ryder you cant use the straw method or dip test as some bolts go straight into the tranny box and go into the gears. From memory once the 2 shorter bolts are in the other ones are easy to work out for lengths. Jai

Well with a bit of luck mine should be back on the road soon gonna start stripping it all down again to change the gear box worse thing is only did the clutch a few days before it went so gotta do it all again.

Big thank you to mhm for last nite didnt get home till 11.30 but hopefully is worth it. (i still want the white one:D)

i may just have to skimp on tomorrow - jet i will call you in the morning to confirm or not. still no front bodywork, grill, radiator, or bumper on - will let you know!

Ryder a word of warning,

Putting too long a bolt in the wrong place in a transfer box causes big problems. As Phil found out today half a bolt worn away and when he undone it it snapped off leaving him a bit stuffed. Managed to drill it and got it out with an easy out but it will need re tapping. It may have been fitted by an Ashcroft approved fitting center aswell not sure.

Ryder will be in touch tomorrow mabe Monday need to get your bolts sorted properly.

Hey Carpy even if you are late comming up its a good place for no rules play in the Mud! I won't be going till later on in the day mabe leave here about 10.30. Jai

OK Jai, not looking to drive the vehicle for a day or three in any case but you're right it would be shame to **** it all up again for the sake of checking!

Carpy... there's a fella goes by the handle of Bulldog up here... he is selling a midland 80 channel for £30, if you're interested let me know and I'll try to get more details.

Pay n play and trialling all in one day... and I gonna skip it... I must be loopy! Still the company is good tomorrow!

I cant play trialling my tyres are too big and they dont like my battery mount 3 M8 mounting points for a twin battery tray. They would like to see 4 mounting points apparently (although they accepted a ratchet strap on the vehicle after mine was checked. Jai
