what do u need jamie?

i havnt got many 1/2 drive sockets for the impact wrench, i fort i might have more chance getting those bolts out with it, i gota go get a blow torch to try and get that water pump bolt off 1st anyway its not budging even with a bug hammer and a chisel.

thats not a bad bag of stuff for the money.Although ive never succesfully dug out a landy-usually if im stuck a jcb couldnt dig me out!

Carpy - How you getting on with the landy?
Have you found any decent lanes round our way? I might have a look at the Bledlow ones next week. Are you coming to Whaddon next week?

just answered a bunch of those questions via pm!

im having a look at some chesham ones today, again gonna have to take it easy as just me on it, but some of them sound half promising, and one or 2 members on here know about it

The greenlane kit looks good but I would also carry a rope the long strop is only good for winching and not towing unless you are not that stuck. you cannot give it any sort of tug without putting serious strain on towing components and you your passengers backs. Jai

Thanks jai and goonarmy. I shall order that kit at the end of the month then and a seven or eight metre rope from here HEAVY DUTY TOW ROPE Car 4x4 Off Road Recovery 7 7 Ton M B L Boat Mooring - Euro Ropes UK, Rope Supplier - Manila Rope, Sisal Rope, Polyhemp Rope

Will have to get the tyre weld, WD40, wooden blocks, maps, basic tool kit, etc at the end of May!
Wd40 is a life saver for petrols, very useful stil fot dezuls. As for the blocks just some old off cuts of decent thickness should do.see wot the local timber yard/diy shop/ya shed has got lying around. Can print maps off the net depending on what sites you go to. multimap does os maps(i think)

Easter bank holiday - can you tell? Bloody weather! The rain slowed things up a tad but got both cylinder heads off today, done the valves on one head, inlets a bit crusty but cleaned up O.K. valve seats look good.

Everything looks pretty good, I think one head gasket was letting by so hopefully this week end will see my cooling system pressure problem sorted (till the next time!).

Hopefully not so wet tomorrow so I can get under the block and attack that leaking core plug then Sunday re-assemble the beast - Yeeeee HHHaaaaaaaaaa.
