Can vehicle be tracked on android. And is movement allerted.
Of course.... the interface we use is via a web page... so the operating system in irrelevant. Plus we are developing a android app and a Iphone app for use too.

Developing but not developed. Most people carry there phones about with them and a notification of movement by email or text is a must to catch a thief. Maybe to.late to track when your home.

Anyone interested in a tracker for there landy. If i can get 50 people to want one price will go down from 250 to 120 with two years subscription free and 25 there after link.

This is not a complete package. This is a simple location (AVL) device. We offer a device that, when properly fitted, allows you to track your vehicle... enable or disable the ignition isolator; switch the engine off when the speed drops below 5kph (legal requirement)... along with many other options....

I have one guy who uses it to switchon the night heater before he gets into his truck... another company who use it to activate a "stolen" sign on the roof... so the 'copter can see it easily - applications are limited by your own imagination.... I would do love to make a spear fly out of the steering wheel... but that sort of thing is frowned upon.

For what your talking about what are the costs. Start up and monthly..
There are a few options:

Pay the lease for the equipment.... allowing for upgrade when the equipment becomes outdated in three years time....

Pay a monthly fee that allows for installation... equipment purchase.... and web access to the website to track locations as well as the voice and text control of the vehicle... around £12 a month.... depending on the installation options

Hope this helps

Is there not a cheaper monthly rate where you purchase equipment and pay a small subscription fee

Of course there is... we can always work something out... but at the end of the day I still have to maintain the server so a fee would be necessary.

You tell me what you want and I will work out a price.

This sounds ok
It's just the monthly cost that would put me off
Any extra monthly outgoing is bad but if it was cheap enough I could be interested
I've been looking at trackers recently

This is not the first time that I have been told that a montly cost would be off putting. However... without a monthly fee.. there would be no online facility... so your positioning or AVL would rely on you putting lat lon details into your own location solution... perhaps google maps or equivalent. Additionally, the stats of the vehicle would be more difficult to manipulate.

The only alternative would be for me to charge a large fee if your vehicle is stolen and to require payment before the locatrion of the vehicle is displayed on a map for you.... Which one makes more sense?

If I tellyou that your vehicle has been stolen and that you can stop it and retrieve it but you need to pay me a hundred or two hundred quid to do so... then I look really bad... and yet this is the service you require.

I prefer to charge a simple monthly fee for a service and facility that I honestly believe is worth its weight. I find it astonishing that paying the equivalent of two packs of cigarettes a month to secure the vehicle appears to be bad value for money.

I am always happy to look at other business models... so if you have something in mind that you would find acceptable while still affording me some small income then let me know and perhaps we can work something out.

Been tempted to fit something to my Rangy. If it's cheap enough I would be interested.
Cheap enough or valkue for money?

I have a number of options.. and they are reduced for LZ members... prefer to spend monthly or annually? Do you want a simple text saying your vehicle has been stolen or would you like to track it on screen?

Do you want to be able to flick a switch and turn off the engine or activate an immobiliser... or would you be happy to rely on a phone call to the vehicle or a text message?

These things affect the price and it is why it is so difficult to tell people what the price would be... suffice to say that we have tariffs that run fron less than ten quid a month.

I think that like me a reasonable one off fee is more suitable. A monthly fee just adds to existing bills. Im looking for more than one unit so would be expensive. Im looking for something simple that informs me if vehicle is moved

Ah.... I should probably have explained that the subscription only applies to people who register to use the web site... for what you need, the website would not be needed. We can offer a number of features that react purely to text messages... or operate via a voice menu (the voice menu is not on general distribution yet... due for deployment in two weeks).

Geo Locking, a facility where you set the vehicle into anti theft mode and it texts you if it moves more than two hundred meters can be activated and deactivated by phone. Indeed... ignition isolator and engine inhibitor can also be activated this way. The only major feature you would lose by not using the site would be seeing the position of the vehicle on a map... instead you would presented with Lat/Lon co-ordinates.

Regarding price.... let me get back to you on Monday... I need to check the current trade price for the entry level units... since I believe they went down in August.

Looking forward to the pub tomorrow night chaps.
