Jack, I've just been up in my loft to put the christmas tree away and found an old rigid aerial and SWR meter. I'm not sure if a rigid one is suitable for driving around with, never mind laning but you're quite welcome to it if you want.
rigid one sounds like a dv27 and will befineaslong as you7 donot clobber anything!
Happy New Year all.
see you all at 9:45 Baldock Services.
It might be a bit wet.![]()
Yep. Thats the UHF connector that the SWR meter connects to, but when I say I've got a spare aerial, that all it is - an aerial. It needs a cable and mount. I've got a spare wing mount you can have but I'm not sure if I've got a cable and obviously you need to drill holes to mount it. If you;re going to all that trouble you would be better off with the aerial higher up somewhere else - I've got mine on the back just under the gutter line.jcuk will it fit this? don't know if it is one standard fitting as i've never had one before.

Ok cheers guys, I will see what you have tomorrow jcuk and probably go pick up the bits on wednesday before the pub. There is a hole in the o/s wing which probably once had an aerial in so I might see if that will work.
No but I have the original shackle that I could pass on to the next winner!
I'll dig out the welder in the next couple of days see if I can knock up a new trophy to be passed around each year.
No problem. I've found some cable too which might be useful. My wing mount has a mini UHF connector on it, but the cable is plain ended so this would need to be sorted. If you need anything soldering up let me know and I can bring an iron on wed if we can scrounge a mains socket at the pub.
Give it to jai so he can make it part of the trophy!!
Sounds great
Hahaha I have a soldering iron somewhere here not too sure what the landlady will say but lets see what we need tomorrow. Thanks very much for all this![]()
