Snapon used to do a small fantastic gas soldering iron little red beastie bloody handy.

Nowdays I have a 12v 100W soldering iron we used for model car racing soldering battery cells together with copper strips. Lots of heat to get it soldered quick. Has to be done quick in approx 1 second or less touching the cell otherwise you can damage the cells and back then they were serious money £20 £28 each x6 cells for racing matched cells.

We're banned from using them at work. Have to be mains powered because of the gas. Plus theyre way too hot for our little 0.5mm wires!

Would just like to say a big thanks to Brett for leading and booger for navigating!!

Had a great day really enjoyed it :)

Drove Batford Ford on the way home, drove it in 2WD, came out the other side no drive. Broken both rear half shafts, so limped home in 4WD with FWD only.

I'll get some pictures up shortly, once I've worked out how to do it with the new camera. Booger & Jack got plenty.

Big thanks to Brett n booger for navigating today, and all that attended. Great day all round.

Brett- sounds a bit of a pain.

Oh that don't sound too good?

Parts ordered, little job for Saturday. I'm going to get HD Shafts as soon as, but they're not available at present. Could be a regular thing, but hey ho, it's only money.

Thanks again to Brett for another great day out, sorry to hear about your dirveshafts.

I managed to come away unscathed apart from bust wing mirror glass due to some inept reversing.

Photos are uploading to photobucket as I type...

Hopefully you got away with it and you've not damaged the CWP driving home on it. Will need to be inspected when the diff is out to make sure tho. Lockers do eat std shafts.

Sounds although you all had a good day out. Good job guys.

Ouch, that don't sound good.

Thanks to all for another great day out in the Landy, will try and get some vids up this evening.
