Not exactly, I just couldn't get out of the rut and bloody trees kept getting in the way, took a bit of lateral thinking and waffle boards to get out of the hole.

Be honest... the idea that fionally did the job was presented by a 7 year old who didn't think we would listen.

When we thought about his idea and tried it it worked a treat.

Quality Luke!

Top marks for the idea, all he has to do now is think of a way to make waffle boards light and self-cleaning.

Has anyone got any plans for next sunday? I'm looking on the positive side of things and hoping to be up and running by saturday night! And i haven't driven the ol gal proper since January 3rd! So need an outing to lift my spirits a bit.

I'm helping my daughter move house on Saturday - sunday would probably be OK though - How about an early start and trecking back to the peaks/Derbyshire for a long but pleasant day out?

That sounds like a cracking idea!

Only thing i would say is I'm not sure if my landy will make it there and back at the moment......

if you guys can hang on a month mabe 2 then I wouldn't mind a weekender up there but will have to be after the axle swap.
Yesterdays progress one rear backplate cleaned and painted. Hub cleaned and painted, stub axle cleaned and almost ready for re assembly. Other side to do and an order from paddocks to get brake springs, shoes, wheel cylinders, a new clutch slave cylinder and a couple of gaskets.

Just got to clean the axle casings I hate that job! Hopefully the light nights will give me some motivation and time.

MrV i have your a diff here and some old RR shafts to suit whenever your ready

Hi all, looks like you all had a good day yesterday.Kev & I went out for a couple of hours this lunch over Tring area to check out some lanes, most are closed permanently but one good one re-opens 1st May.We then went up to Pepperstock and the tree is now removed, also checked out width restriction Kev can just get through but I cant as my tree sliders make me too wide (some adjustments may be needed)!!!

I'm up and running again! get the fook in!!!! One Bastid bolt held me up all weekend, half a can of WD40 and A Torx E14 Socket got the bugger out. I now have No EGR Valve :D:D:D:D

Nice one glad it worked! Somtimes they can be a right bitch I had a waterpump bolt snap in the engine block that took some getting out I can tell you!

Nice one Kev and Steve for moving the tree, be carfeul with regard the width restriction assuming its the metal ones put their by the council. I have been in contact with the man in who has been tasked with fitting such a thing to try and keep the lane open and he told me its the last resort before a permanant closure this was a couple of months ago. Can forward the guys phone number and contact details if needed. I think he planned to get together with a local offroad club to get the width.

Thanks for the advice for getting the bugger out, really didn't want to have to drill the sod out, as it was in one of those annoying places that you can't realld get any tools to.

I go through with about 100mm clearance. Phil would have no chance.
