Seriously considering it Johnny D, I have no filter at present in the engine bay. I have a K&N in the mushroom top of my tried and tested snorkel. I would rarther have a filter I can change more easily, in the engine bay opposed to climbing up onto the roof to do it. Jai

Ah ok ... I dont know what to do with mine as its in a normal air filter housing not a cylinder :) ... I thought about a BMC one and some flexi pipe to outside the car as mine sits inside the passenger wheel arch no good for me i like flying through the puddles :p . John

Hi Johnny,

If I were you I wouldn't bother changing anything unless you intend on driving through water that is deeper than the top of your wheel rims. As a rough guide anyhow. If you intend on going through deeper water than that, then I would say get a snorkel.

We a few of us from this forum usually and quite regularly do some of the deepest fords and pay and play sites in the area. These can quite often come above the wings and door tops. (especially pay and play) I fitted a snorkel because of this. hope this helps Jai

Ooops sorry! We'll still be drivingon Sunday though

Lol!

Hey Ryder,
Ive been to our local parts supplyer (you kinow who they are) to find them to be more £££ than they used to be. Mabe its worth getting our belts n stuff from paddocks. I need to buy some drive shafts anyhow next week. let me know what yiou think Jai.

So should i just do all the breather pipes and leave the air intake ... crankcase and gearbox ? I cant say i plan on going doors deep in water! :p

I would check existing breathers, make sure they are located in the chassis correctly. Go Buy a few wading bungs and put them in when going through the water splashes. *Remember to take them out otherwise any oil cannot escape and could in time damage timing belt etc.

A great day today.
The Spydiemobile Lives!!!!!
We fired it up this afternoon. Not for long as it's not plumbed for waterworks yet, but it runs sweet. :D:D:D
New Exhaust fitted by DB this morning, caused him a bit of grief and a few skinned knuckles.
Raised Air Intake is finished, support bracket fabricated and it's all ready to go.
Tomorrow, Sort throttle cable support bracket, Front Panel & Radiator, Handbrake Shoes, weld Seat supports and general tidy up.
Then it's Rock n' Roll.:D:D:D:D:D:D

A few progress Pictures, including the fabulous gear storage box built by Kris :D:D:D
