Unedited, so that text was floating in the air over the Isle of Skye ???? :D

HeHe, seriously that is a great pic (apart from the text - but I won't blame the camera for that :D)

I still don't understand why you cant upload pics from there... with a hello kitty cam you just plug it into your mobile and put the pics on the net

Going tomorrow instead now  My radio has blown up and I didn't have enough time to pack everything up

Why bother with the hello kitty bit? My phone probably takes better pics on its own :D:D:D Oh and good luck getting signal up there unless you are on a mountain :p

Thought you had a roof tent on your landy? I am only camping this time. I need to find a campsite that will be open for December :p:rolleyes: I might have to resort to a cottage then.

It's just been invented, mid Dec I think....

Here is one I took earlier....

That is a really cracking shot. What lens?

Sold the rooftent, it was crap, but anyway there is no way I'd drive to Scotland at 50mph. So I'd only go in the Saab..

I thought you would have a comfy cottage again

So what you staying there till Dec ? No wonder you have tough days at work, obviously no one there likes you, cause you are always on holiday :D

PS. the lens was a 50mm prime F1.2

I'm going for 10 days or so.. then the same in December, but I don't think any campsites will be open so I will be forced to find a cottage then. I do have a hot water tank in there but the heater is not working atm :D

I saved up all my holiday from this time last year and worked bloody hard for it

You know what they say about the grass over the fence Booger... You have great kit now, don't ruin it :( That picture is fantastic, and could only be taken by a lens like yours.

I'm making this thread a photography one :D

Sorry I'll stop after this pic, I just want Jacks opinion on this image, taken on a very overcast day...

No I need to stop :D The football is the last non landrover pic I'll post :p

So then you are going to Scotland tomorrow ?

i dont know whether this will work, but i have a gallery in dropbox that i hope this will link to...

Kai was working outside on the gearbox and transfer box that will be going into the disco this week. 5 year old Jas came outside and absolutely insisted on helping. She really got involved and it was wonderful to see him patiently explaining how to use a spanner and a socket, and seeing her face when she managed to get the slave cylinder off the old gearbox was qualilty!

A nicely composed picture but I don't think it was taken with a 5d.. at least not near its highest quality settings. You can see how sharp and clear the dog is but it's not the same with the football. Am I right?

Have you ever used noise removal software? That edited sunset is a nice view but its very grainy in the sky.

I think sharpness is more a fuction of the lens than the resolution..

Dog, indoors, perfect light, £1200 50mm f1.2 prime lens...

Football, outdoors, poor light, mates kit (not even an L) zoom lens... add to that, the pic was resized with some cheap and nasty software...

Sunsets are my fixed lens point & shoot, with HDR, which is where alot of the noise comes from... I can do noise reduction, but doing them to such low quality images would have been like putting alloy wheels and low profile tyres on a series land rover....

Did I say I was finished posting pics, fook it, lets give people stuff to look at :D

and this pic is even of a 4x4... (see if you can guess what lens/cam was used)

Maybe we should start a random picture thread

Seriously, this is the last batch, Jack if you can guess the lens of these you win a prize... :D

Might as well have taken it with your hello kitty :D:D

I would say they were both taken with your compact. Not completely sharp and they look a bit compressed... But you could have just not focused accurately and resized it.. :p:p

Oh, and I thought alloys on a series was a good look?

:D:D

I would say a high end compact or 4/3rds camera. A 5D should do a lot better. Without seeing the boat myself the colours do look very real and accurate. If you used a 5D and 50mm 1.2 I think you would get a sharper image with a lot less compression. Unless you have resized it I would be very surprised if that was taken with a 5D.

If they are both taken with the same camera I would guess 4/3rds as the second image I would expect to see more colour abberation from a compact. It is still not close to the quality of your 50mm prime.

They

They were taken with a very odd lens, not sharp, but fast... F0.95, meant for video...

Now what about the boat and the sign, then I will bored of this game :D

I was right now I am bored.....

Football = Pre production version of my Hello Kitty with kit zoom lens

Lego & Clock = Three year old Hello Kitty with weird German video lens

Boat and Sign = Previous version of my Hello Kitty with Leica lens

All have been resize with whatever program it is that I use to view my pics, for a true representation of the Hello Kitty quality you will just have to wait for mine to arrive :D

Because Mr "I Can't Upload Pictures For Two Weeks" has helped convince me that Hello Kitty is the way to go :p:p
