OK So Billy no mates here is stuck at home on a Friday night. Decided to start looking into this whole Centre Parcs issue with Steppingly. For those further away from us... there is a lane at Steppingly that is under threat from Center Parcs who have got planning permision for the land adjacent to it.

The strange thing is that one of the main sites discussing the issues have actually made a mistake in setting the location. They describe Fordfield Road as forming the West border (which would make our lane safe!) When the plans actually make this road the East Border. The west border is in fact the Byway itself.

I can not find any evidence to say that the Byway will be closed, though with half the woods removed it will certainly not be as picturesque. The planned site, however, does not include the land that the byway stands on. That is outside the planned area.

If anyone has more information I would love to hear about it. This is one of our favourite PROWs in Bedfordshire, and both I, and my kids, will miss it tremendously if it goes.

if it is under threat lets protest park all our motors up it so it cant be ruined :)
it is a good route and we dont have many around so the fukers can build it else where i say kinda looks like that pay and play days will be the only things left for us to use with all the lane closures etc

Spyderman,

Guess you'll be under the series today then. Hope all goes well with new props and hand brake, if you need anything give me a shout, should be around pretty much all day today.

It's all to do with 4x4's not being PC, so all the greenies want to take away our fun on rights of way. when the truth of the matter is 4x4's only make up a small part of all vehicles on the road. And all motor vehicles in the world only account for a small amount of climate change. Motorist are and easy option, they want to close lanes to save money on maintaining them and make money out of road charges and tax's. How else would Britten make money, we don't have an industry where we make anything any more and the way things are going the goverment will push Land Rover into closing down, one of the last things we can still be proud of, there already on a short working week due to a drop in sales.

Yep. I may only be able to afford an old Discovery but I would rather have my old disco than a new estate car, but the ignorant and the jealous would rather take that choice away from me. They would also like to take away what very limited choice we all have as to where and when we can enjoy our hobby. It is not just users of motorised vehicles who should be concerned. Horse riders should look into just how much they are restricted from using, they may well be shocked by the percentages.

Ah well, when the hate turns to sports cars and people carriers with only three people in them and whoever is next on the spiteful and self centred agenda of the various groups of antis then no-one should have the excuse that they did not see it coming.

Rant over (for now)

Cool am in the process of making a stake for making holes in the frozen ground for the canes to go in. I wont be doing any deep water or any mad stuff tomorrow I'm on a mellow one Jai

I have no choice but to be on a mellow one, not having any modifications at all to the car. It will be interesting to see just what it can do and I must admit I am looking forward to it.

I'm sure you will surprise yourself! Just remember V8's don't like the water there will be plenty of people around to tow help you out Jai

My Landy is fixed:D:D:D:D

X-Eng handbrake is awesome. New Prop has fixed the vibration. Changed the Diff oil while I was at it too.
MOT next week, but don't see any problems with that.
I'm back in action:D:D:D:D:D

I guess I should ask is it easy enough to find the site? I have a sat nav, so if I enter the postcode are there signs or do I just look for Barn Hill Farm?

Planning on bringing the wife along. She has a pair of wellies you see :D

I go in to whaddon from MK so I turn right on the roundabout heading towards Whaddon follow the road down through a sharp left turn, past some houses then on the sharp right hand bend take the road off to your left which makes it straight on follow that until you see the 4x4 sign on the left follow the farm track till you get to the top then Play!

I'm going to give Whaddon a miss this week. I've got 'stuff' to do. I've had a productive day today though, home made a snorkel, and 90% fitted a wading kit, replaced the broken door handle, fitted a light bar (not lights yet....) and still enough time to enjoy a rum or two this evening. Tomorrow rear brakes, wiring lights, oil change, and possibly some sort of wash??!
Have a good day 2moro.
