And the other one is a remapping tool good bit of equipment for the egr valve removal and mpg.
Family are well not getting to much sleep but enjoying every second I spend with him.

The welding is easy when you have the flow right could do it one Saturday next year if you and joules are up for it?
Will even let you loose on the Plasma cutter 😀

That is a beast! I'm jealous. Plasma current sounds like fun, I've always thought I had too many fingers anyway :) is the 110 so you can turn the 90 into a challenge truck and trailer it around? Glad the family is all good. If you get an evening you can escape before Xmas do you fancy a beer?

The amount I've done to the 90 it could be but but haven't got any room in the workshop for a trailer lol, got our westfield coming back soon slapped a 1300 gsxr megabusar lump in it so should be good for the summer.
Beer sounds good keep saying to myself need to come along to the pub meet but time I get in toooooo bloody tired lol.

Haha I think you definitely win the toys competition! Well, if you can escape this coming Wednesday I can come pick you up/drop you off home if you fancy the pub meet.

You have some good toys there. I know its cheeky but is there any chance I can borrow said plasma cutter in the not to distant future. The very nice V8 disco I bought the wife to replace the Terrano needs a couple of sills welding on. But I knew that when I bought it.

Don't put yourself out Lee, me and Joules live around the corner and are coming anyway.

That is what I wish I had instead of a confused Disco haha. (I think I met you at your work with my old Disco 3. (I used to live in hemel, do smart repairs)

Think I found a lane today near me, marked on the online map (I realise it's out of date).

I was only on a recce out of interest and wouldn't drive it on my own or without consulting the definitive map, the lane was marked as a public byway and I couldn't help noticing some large tree stumps and couple of big bags full of debris across the entrance, effectively blocking the way in.

I did a trail riding weekend in Devon about 10 years ago and remember stopping with the instructor who pointed out a sign that he believed had been paid for and erected by the locals, which read that driving/riding was illegal along that lane, however the instructor knew otherwise.

Is this something you regulars see often, does it actually tell me that the lane shouldn't be driven or simply that some people would rather one didn't?

Cheers. :)

Hi DarkPassenger,

What lane we may know it. If its marked up as a Byway and on the map then your usually pretty good to go worth checking with the council first and once known to be legal remember it!

P.s I am sorting out my old maps in the cupboard so will get back out at some point. I have done an xmas trip for the last few years just of local lanes. Reminds me Sible managed to roll his 90 into a field from the road in the snow a few years back just after xmas.

Going to need some mild lanes for a while, need to get some experience up and use the car as family transport for a year or so.

Would love to go on a couple of beginners trips with some experienced regulars, hope to get up to the Dunstable pub meet on Wednesday to put some faces to forum names.

OS explorer map ordered too, hope it's delivered by Wednesday :)

Thanks.

We can do an evening/morning or even night laning trip in the new year. None of the lanes here are particularly evil. a few may scratch. We Herts laners do advise fitting decent recovery points like Jate rings. No need to completely modify your car and turn it into an awful offroad monster a couple of £12-15 recovery jate rings and a decent rope is always worth investing in. I usually carry one in my motor just in case. Best to have and never use than to need and never have.

I'll be bringing my local maps on wednesday, i need to get out laning. I think if all goes to plan Stu and i might do a few local lanes on the 13th if anyone is up for that? nothing spectacular planned but a little jaunt none the less.

Probably best to do a daytime trip in the new year that way you can recognise the lanes when you go back to do them. Ive done some cracking lanes in the dark but could I remember them in daylight could I.
